You are on a path, walking up a hill, with other women. Each of you are carrying a lantern, and from a distance it looks like a firefly procession. You arrive at a wellspring with stars reflected in the water, and set the lanterns in the mossy crevices of rock surrounding the well.
This wellspring is a time traveling cauldron. And it is not just asking you to put the ingredients of your history into it... it is asking you to disrobe garments of avoidance... and to step in with your whole self. You carry the raw ingredients required to participate in transforming an often dead, indifferent, unawakened culture, into gold.
At one point, during the height of puritanism and witch burning in one of my motherlands, (Scotland), it is said that some of the holy wells were filled in, to prevent women from meeting there.
I think this symbolizes so very much.
Especially for sisterhood.
We have been entrained to be cut off from the plenitude of this wellspring, and have often taken it out on each other, instead of deciding to drink from it together, and allow it to collectively brim into the world.
I have been dreaming of a gathering... a "wellspring community" of women who want to heal their Western or Westernized wound... who want to remember there is mystery in the West, and not just materialism, or greed.
Who want to explore what happened, and what stories we manipulated. It is also a space where music, and adventure, sensual tenderness, and heightened taste, and the Sacred Well itself, are portholes to rehydrate devotion, beauty, sisterhood, and a deeper awakening to your "one precious life".
The Wellspring is a place to find common ground with each other, and to explore ritualistic ways to reconcile the ancestral fragments within ourselves..
